Reading Blog #6

My experience in some educational institutions seem more like a place of teaching us students good behavior and not to do the wrong things in life. When I was in high school all the teachers all acted the same way and many were very uptight and liked to punish us for the little things that happened. I feel as if the teachers tried to make us better people in the society with good social standards. Every teacher would stand up walk around and make sure we payed attention, but the was just the way they were told to teach us. I sometimes think as if my school was a spin off of the music video "another brick in the wall" by: Pink Floyd. I do feel like my educational experience their did somewhat make me a better person, everything was done the right way and there were sometimes no other way around it. It just makes me think of my school as a strong superior school with high expectations and that's exactly what I learned after graduating.

  1. From my educational experiences, I feel that it is parents jobs to punish and teach their children right from wrong. A teacher job is to teach knowlegde about the everyday subjects to help us become successful in our careers and establish some type of work ethnic. My high school did make me strive to make something of my life but not teachers. My teachers simply wanted a pay check is you ask me but then again who doesn't?

  2. I agree with you for the most part. I believe educational institutions do teach students good behavior and responsibilities. Some children/kids are not taught proper manners and good behavior at home. It's unfortunate but some parents don't instill good character or proper manners onto their children. Everyone wants a pay check but most teachers are interested in the children they come into contact with. People who don't like children don't become teachers. I believe it's mostly the parents job to provide children with the proper social standards, responsibilities, morals and the rights and wrongs of life. But teachers are with your children for 7 to 8 hours a day 5 days a week and they play a part in every childs life that they come accross.
