The picture of Ohio State vs. Michigan football is a great example of domination in hegemony. Both teams battle once every year to see who is more dominate in this heated rivalry. Its also a a game of bragging rights, both teams have the chance to say who is better and dominate in this one game.
Omg...This is a great picture in terms of hegemony. I think the picture says alot exactly. We have 2 great football teams that would love to have those bragging rights, but what's happens when they win and another great team wants to challenge them? I feel a person's power will always be tested when it comes to being dominate or being on top. It's always someone willing to do any and everything to take you down and will stop at nothing until their mission is accomplished.
ReplyDeleteSince I'm from Michigan....GO MI LOL
This picture is a good example of Hegemony, but I think it has more to do with the fact that this game is a distraction for the public from the real worlds problems. It is a sport that has no real significance to the world or how it works. It is just a means of entertainment. The game and participating the rivalry satisfy the fans pursuit of pleasure. The dominating factor you mention is more about overpowering the other team with force and aggressive strategies, less about winning them over subliminally.
